Details - Visit Monet’s House and Gardens in Giverny + Visit the Palace of Versailles

From April 1st to October 31st : Departure: 8.15 am everyday except Monday, Friday and May 1st.

Claude Monet settled in Giverny in 1883 and lived there until his death in 1926. During that period many painters, mostly American were initiated into impressionism by the Master.

We suggest you start the day with a guided walk through the gardens which inspired him for the famous “Nympheas”.

Do not miss the Japanese bridge !

Then, you can visit the house on your own: the painter’s furniture and his collection of etchings.

Lunch in the restaurant Moulin de Fourges, famous for its charming atmosphere and good "cuisine". Back to the coach and head for Versailles.

Then we will take you back into the past and plunge into the world of Louis XIV in the heart of the Castle of Versailles.

While you visit the Great Apartments, the Hall of Mirrors and the Queen’s Apartments, our guide interpreter will tell you all about the building of the castle and life at the court.

You will also have free time to visit the formal gardens “à la Française”.

All entrance tickets are included.

Special Fountains Show Programme

In addition to the usual programme we suggest that you wander around the groves and pools where the magnificent display of fountains reveals the skill and artistry of three centuries of French
garden design and engineering. The display is accompanied by music from one of the famous composers from the court of Louis XIV.
